Chris Parkin
Owner
A passionate collector, Chris has filled the hotel with over 100 of his favourite works as well as his limited edition MV Augusta motorcycles - true conversation-starters. And if you are an engineering buff, he was responsible for moving the Hotel from its original site nearly 200 metres away, to its current location. Hailed 20 years ago as a world beating feat, the 3500 tonne behemoth was turned into a railway carriage and rolled into position.
Recently appointed to the board of Tourism New Zealand, he was formerly a Wellington City Councillor, a Director of Te Papa, and an inaugural Trustee of the Affordable Arts Trust. He is currently Chairman of Wellington Venues Ltd and involved in a number of Wellington community and charitable organisations.
When he's not busy at the hotel, he could be found anywhere in the world - often on a motorbike.
Kathy Parkin
General Manager
"Museum Art Hotel General Manager Kathy Parkin would have to be one of the best hosts I have ever come across, adding to the generosity and joy that exudes from this little gem."
