Executive Chef Laurent Loudeac has designed an autumnlicious selection of culinary delights that will ravish your senses.Naturally he did not miss to keep your favourites on the menu, such as Salmon Sashimi “my way”, Kikorangi tortellini or the latest Peppered Saku tuna. The choices are all succulent and you may struggle to choose so we are also offering a special Dégustation menu at $120.00pp (5 courses food only) for you to enjoy a wider variety of Laurent’s menu. Experience the art of “patisserie” and savour classic desserts metamorphosed into masterpieces by talented Louis Sergeant.
Maitre’D Timothee Lepoutre has put together a fabulous range of the best New Zealand and European wines to match your food and stimulate your taste buds.

We strongly advise you make your bookings in advance to avoid disappointment. We now have an automatic online booking system that displays availabilities and allows you to book, then will send you an email confirmation. However, please always check you email confirmation to ensure the details are as you want them to be.
* Chocoholic High tea – Easter weekend
Due to an immense success in 2011 and a large demand, Hippopotamus is reconducting the Chocoholic High tea and it will be available all of Easter weekend (Friday 6, Saturday 7, Sunday 8 and Monday 9 April 2012).
Hippopotamus chef de patisserie, Louis Sergeant will lovingly create a beautifully presented selection of carefully hand crafted chocolate treats, savoury amuse-bouches and mini-sandwiches for you to relish. Enjoy these with a selection from our Gourmet Dilmah tea range and a glass of bubbly or a special chocoholic cocktail.

* Special Mother’s Day High tea and dinner - Sunday 13th May
Treat mum with a decadent High tea, bubbly, cocktails, amuses-bouche and mignardises to relish. We anticipate High tea and dinner to be booked out quickly, so make your reservation as soon as possible and we will send you further details and the special menus during April.
